Lump in the Throat
What is it?
Many patient feel a “lump in the throat” also known as a globus sensation or globus pharyngeus. It can be due to an actual structural lesion in the throat, such as a cyst or other growths, irritation from conditions such as reflux disease, or simply be a sensation that is from an unknown problem.
How is it treated?
Patients with a persistent feeling of a lump in the throat should have a full evaluation by a throat specialist to identify the underlying cause and provide treatment options. Treatments vary based on findings.
